Gulfstream Cafe is one of the more renowned eateries along the Grand Strand. With its modestly elegant atmosphere, the restaurant embodies a uniquely southern blend of ease and refinement rarely captured and often misunderstood by those who have never visited. Watercolor-like landscapes frame the setting (which offers ample outdoor seating) and picture windows give indoor diners a breathtaking view of sleepy Murrells Inlet. Famed as much for its food as for its sunsets, Gulfstream Cafe sits just south of the Garden City Connector alongside Martin Quay Marina.

Though the restaurant is somewhat upscale and prices reflect that quality ($10-$30 per entree), a well-protected locals’ secret is the Early Bird Special served from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. One of Gulfstream’s signature entrees is the delicately flavored Grouper Francais, sauteed in a parmesan batter and finished with a lemon butter sauce. Of course you’ll find other southern favorites like shrimp and grits, as well as richly satisfying appetizers like the Oysters Rockefeller or bacon-wrapped scallops. Everything is done with panache against a backdrop of clean white linen, and portions are generous but not overwhelming.

The restaurant is perfect for a relaxed date night, but does offer a well-rounded kids’ menu as well. Whether you’re coming back for the 10th time or making your first foray into the Inlet, you’ll discover all that’s best about the southeast, neatly presented in as if on a silver platter, at Gulfstream Cafe. This is one of those places we at CRG love to recommend, if only because it truly never disappoints.

CRG is proud to announce the beginning of a new project, a stunning luxury beach home in Garden City just across the street from the legendary Gulfstream Cafe, a visitors’ and locals’ favorite for seafood with award-winning cuisine. A hair’s breadth away from the sublime salt marshes of South Carolina and overlooking its world-famous beaches, the setting has a feel that is at once intimate and–somehow–impossibly posh.

At a spacious 6,640 square feet, the home has a decidedly rare feature in that it boasts four oceanfront master bedrooms, making it a highly desirable property for multiple-family rentals. Each of those master suites is more than 225 square feet in and of itself, and all have access to oceanfront balconies. The three-story home has eight bedrooms in total.

This is a stand-alone lot in one of the most coveted sections of Garden City, and the layout allows for a commodious backyard complete with a pool and shallow wading area surrounding a hot tub. Outdoor seating, showers, and grilling equipment make this the perfect home for hosting parties, and even for larger events like weddings.

CRG’s interior designer Kylee Mante is outfitting the home with opulent granite countertops and stainless appliances, and plans to use hand-scraped hardwood throughout for the flooring. Adding an additional element of luxury and efficiency is an elevator with access to each floor.

Upon completion, the home will be available for rental through Beach Realty in Garden City. Click here to follow along with our progress.

CRG Construction has been a leader in Myrtle Beach luxury home building for years, and with CEO/President Preston Guyton’s realty expertise in the mix, CRG has a lot to offer prospective home owners. But as we welcome certified Interior Designer Kylee Mante to our team, we are able to add even more to our repertoire of services.

CRG has diversified, creating a new company in CRG Home Design. We now have the ability to plan homes from the ground up, moving effortlessly through the conceptual stage to our 3D design engineer Jack Johnson’s visual renderings and into the actual build. Now, with Kylee’s help, we can trim homes with custom options, and even furnish your dream dwelling with just the right accessories so that the process becomes painless and the outcome is nothing short of sublime.

A graduate of Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, NC, Kylee specializes in Kitchen and Bath design, but her abilities are far-reaching. As Kylee puts it, “my business card says ‘Interior Design’ on it. However, that seems limiting to what I really do around here.” In fact, she handles all selections for the home, from cabinet hardware to decking boards, wood finishes, counter tops, paint selection, fixtures and more. And of course she will be growing CRG Home Design’s business with her traditional interior design skill set. Kylee notes, “there is not much we can’t do. We design custom homes, build them on fabulous lots, and furnish them to perfection.”

She’s excited to be a part of a team that has it all. The personal feeling you get from working with CRG is something that attracted her to the company immediately. “It makes a great experience for the homeowner, getting to know Preston, Jack and myself, making the CRG Companies your go-to place” for anything build-related. She’s the person a client calls with concerns about all the minutiae of a project. She’s the details person.

Kylee’s true passion lies in helping clients find their own voice within a home, and helping to “create the backdrop of someone else’s life.” Regardless of industry trends or fads, she says, that remains timeless. It’s all about “enriching and improving [your] daily lifestyle.”

Kylee pursued interior design right out of high school, applying only to colleges that had the right programs for her. ECU was at the top of her list then, just as a job with CRG was a top goal after she graduated. She committed herself to her studies with the same drive that she now applies to her chosen career path. Let Kylee and the rest of the team at CRG Home Design show you how you can get the home you really want–inside and out–on a premium lot in Myrtle Beach.

CRG Construction is proud to be featured in the South Carolina Greater Upper Coastal Builder + Architect magazine. This journal has featured local leaders in the custom home design & build industry since 1937. We’re honored to be a part of this institution, and thrilled to share this great article with our readers.

Builder + Architect focused on several keys aspects of what CRG Construction does best. Preston Guyton, CRG’s President/CEO, makes a special effort to stay informed on the latest custom home design & build trends. Whether it’s sourcing materials to save money, or finding new ways to incorporate Green design & build techniques, he’s always on-task for his clients.

This attention-to-detail is what attracted the Hall family to hire CRG Construction to design & build their Garden City Beach home. Over 6,000 heated square feet, “Sea La Vie” is oceanfront luxury personified. Randy Hall had his own design before hiring CRG Construction to build it. However, our team had some great suggestions that improved his design, and saved money in the process.

Mr. Hall explains, “When that project was over, we didn’t spend one dime more than we committed to in the beginning. Preston found ways to essentially pay for the extras by making a few choices here and there.”

CRG Construction also proudly coordinates with expert 3D design engineer Jack Johnson. Jack’s unique ability to render custom home designs in lush, 3D images gives CRG clients a better view of their dream home. Everything from landscape to interior design can be seen in Jack’s beautifully rendered images.

Preston’s relationship with expert artisans like Jack are a big part of what makes CRG Construction the right choice for clients like the Hall family. In an era of cookie-cutter homes & pre-fabricated neighborhoods, this helps us stand out in a big way. It also greatly improves the resale value of the homes we build. The Real Estate market is often volatile. Having a custom home designed & built by CRG Construction is an investment that will stand the test of time.
